Using the same wheel support cups and frame-free ratcheting arms. this 2-bike platform add-on is capable of carrying two more bikes. with tyres up to 29 x 5″. on a wheelbase up to 1270mm. and a total combined weight of up to 72.5kg.

How many bikes does it carry: In standard form. the T2 Pro XTR can carry 2 bikes. The T2 Pro XT Add-on takes this to 4 bikes total.
How does it carry them: Platform racks support the loaded bikes by the tyres and the T2 Pro XT/XTR doesn’t really care what size tyre you have as the deep cups will handle up to 5″ wide. Once the bikes are strapped down with the locking ratcheting wheel straps the solid support arm clamps down on the front wheel to keep the bike upright and prevent swaying.
How much weight can it carry: With the T2Pro XT Add-On fitted. the Thule T2 Pro XTR is rated to carry 72.5kg safely.
E-Bike rated: Yes. The maximum individual bike weight is 27kg and the deep and wide wheel cups are perfectly suited to plus-sized E-Bike tyres. Just remember to stay with in the 72.5kg maximum total load limit for the Carrier.
How does it mount to the car: The T2 Pro XT add-on attaches to your existing T2 Pro XTR rack. which attaches to your vehicle via the 2″ square receiver.
Does it tilt or swing to gain access to the vehicle: The T2 Pro XTR carrier can be tilted away from the vehicle even when fully loaded. The T2 Pro XT add-on relocates the foot pedal tilt actuator and the entire carrier can be tilted with the exception that the carrier is now deeper and may touch the ground on vehicles with lower ground clearance. The same mechanism provides the ability for the platform to fold up toward the vehicle when not in use.
What size bikes (wheelbase) can it carry: The T2 can accommodate 20″ to 29″ bikes with a wheelbase up to 1270mm
What is the max tyre size: FAT tyres up to 29″ x 5″ wide are welcomed by the Thule T2 Pro XTR and T2 Pro XT add-on.
How much does it weigh / dimensions: As an owner of a T2 Pro XTR carrier. you will be aware that it is not lightweight. but the built-in wheels do make it easy to manoeuvre around and get lined up with the car. Thule doesn’t specify weight in their specification but other sources suggest 15.8kg which sounds about right. This would take to the total weight of the 4-bike carrier to about 39kg. 1400W x 1470D x 381H (folded)
Does it fold up for storage: Yes. The support arms fold down and the platform folds up towards the vehicle. The 2″ tongue sticks out a little even when folded so it’s not going to fit under the bed or in the wardrobe.
Does it include a lock: Yes. There are built-in locks to lock the bikes to the rack and the rack to the vehicle.
Does it have an integrated licence plate holder / brake / reverse lights: Not included
