Description
SQlab’s 311 FL-X Carbon is a carbon handlebar intended for use on Marathon. Cross Country and Trailbikes with a sporty riding position that are either a hardtail or less than 130mm dual-suspension.
The FL-X technology is said to reduce vibration transmitted to the rider by 15% to 30% over conventional carbon handlebars and has been tested up to 50m/s2 (approximately 5G) showing that the FL-X technology reduces the loads on the hand-arm system by 18 % to 20 % compared to other carbon handlebars. These accelerations/impacts. frequently occur during mountain biking with root sections or braking bumps and “Arm Pump” is a very mountain bike specific problem.
Common between the ‘low’ models is the 15mm rise. 4° upsweep and 740mm width. and the 311 FL-X Carbon ‘low’ is available in a 12° backsweep for more upright positions such as all-mountain and enduro bikes. or in the 16° backsweep for more ‘stretched-out’ riding positions such as XC bikes.
The ‘med’ models feature a more moderate 30mm rise. 4° upsweep and 740mm width and the same 12° and 16° backsweep options.
At just under 200g. the 311 FL-X Carbon handlebar is one of the lightest and most stable on the market and was apparently one of only 2 handlebars not broken in a handlebar break test conducted by Bike Magazine.
The pictured stem is not included in the purchase of the Handlebars.
